PROFILE

Hakan Kocaman graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University in June 2011 and completed his thesis-based master’s degree at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Sakarya University in January 2019. Since September 2022, he has been pursuing his PhD studies at the Graduate School of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ).

He began his professional career in August 2011 as a Geomatics Engineer at the Department of Planning and Investment of the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (SASKİ), where he worked for two years. He subsequently transferred to the Department of Information Technologies at SASKİ, serving as Chief of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from 2013 to 2017 and as Head of the Software and GIS Division from 2017 to 2023.

In May 2023, he was appointed Deputy Secretary General of SUBÜ, a position he currently holds. In addition to his duties as Deputy Secretary General, he also served as Acting Head of the Department of Information Technologies from November 2023 to July 2025.

Since the fall semester of the 2023–2024 academic year, he has also been teaching the Surveying course as a guest lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture at SUBÜ.

He is married and has two children.
