Immediately after the 6 February 2023 earthquakes, we conducted extensive field studies with Hakan ASLAN, Recep Bilal SIKAR and İbrahim Can TURAN within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1002-C Natural Disasters Focused Field Study Emergency Support Programme. As a result of these studies, our research on the earthquake performance of transport infrastructures with GNSS-based deformation analysis and GIS-supported evaluations was completed. Our academic article titled ‘Impact and GNSS-based deformation analysis of the earthquake in Turkey on 6 February, 2023: a case study of the TAG (Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep) motorway and Hatay airport’ was published in Frontiers in Built Environment.
We hope that the article will contribute to policy makers, engineering professionals and academic circles while drawing attention to the importance of the continuity of transport infrastructures in rapid response processes after disasters.

Notifications with Telegram in ArcGIS Pro: Telegram Notification Tool
GIS professionals often work on large-scale analyses or long-running geoprocessing tasks. Waiting for these tasks to complete can be inefficient. To solve this, I developed the Telegram Notification Tool for ArcGIS Pro, which sends a notification to your Telegram account once your process is finished.
In this blog post, I will explain the features of the Telegram Notification Tool, how to set it up, and share the GitHub repository containing the code. I will also show you how to integrate this tool into your geoprocessing workflows in ArcGIS Pro.

The desktop application called Tecviz Calculation, which I prepared in 2014, has been downloaded and used by tens of thousands of people so far. However, with the regulation named “REGULATION ON DETERMINATION OF THE LIMIT OF Error in Land Registry Plans” published in the Official Gazette dated September 27, 2022, the calculation method for the appropriation account, which has been used until today, has been completely changed. In this respect, I have developed a small new desktop application called “Boundary of Error Calculation Application” within the framework of the calculation methods specified in the said regulation. Although this new application produces results only by using the calculation method for archive-approved geometries specified in the regulation, it is planned to be updated in future versions (as far as I have the opportunity) to produce results according to the calculation method for temporary coordinated parcels, which is the other calculation method.
You can use the application directly by extracting it from the compressed file without installing it on your Windows computer. Click here to download the application.
