Kocaman and Kocaman Pro have been updated. With this latest update, the errors caused by earthtools.org in the GPS modules of the Kocaman app have been fixed. A limited Tolerance Calculation module has also been added under the Calculation Modules of the Kocaman app. In addition, performance improvements and minor bug fixes have been made in both apps.
The video below, prepared by Survey Engineer Hüseyin Cem İNCE; The process of exporting areal objects in a file with NetCAD .ncz extension as .shp file without data loss is explained. Since ArcGIS and similar software generally do not recognize files with .ncz extensions, users can view files with .ncz extensions after converting them to different formats (such as .dwg). However, data loss and various problems are encountered frequently in such processes. For this reason, in order to avoid data loss, how to convert the .ncz file to .shp file, which has become the standard file format for many software, is discussed in detail in the video below. Once again, I thank Hüseyin Cem İnce for his sharing.
I hope the prepared content will be useful.
As you know, with their latest update, the Kocaman and Kocaman Pro apps started to make field work easier for users by using the map and web services provided by Google and Earthtools.org under the GPS Modules. However, due to recent changes at earthtools.org, which provides the elevation information, the app started to give errors during survey and stake-out operations.
Taking into account the feedback from our users, we first clearly identified the source of the error and did the work needed to fix it. In addition, the Tolerance Calculation module, which calculates the permissible tolerance (tecviz) for area values frequently encountered in cadastral work, has been added under the Calculation Modules. As a result of this work, the Kocaman Pro app has been upgraded to version 1.1 and uploaded to Google Play as of now, and it will be available to our users in the coming hours.
Using the link below, you can access the documents of the translation and presentation study “A Comparative Study on Simulation Demonstrations of CORSIM and VISSIM for Urban Street Networks”, which I presented as part of the Traffic Simulation Techniques course of my master’s programme in the 2014-2015 spring semester. In the study, the CORSIM and VISSIM traffic simulation software packages were compared with each other through a simulation study carried out in the city of Shanghai, China, revealing their advantages and disadvantages. I hope it will be a good resource for those interested in traffic simulation and simulation software…

Using the link below, you can access the documents of the translation and presentation study “Airport Airside Design for New Large Aircraft”, which civil engineer Selim KARA and I presented as part of the Airport Design course of my master’s programme in the 2014-2015 autumn semester. In this study, which I think will interest aircraft and airport enthusiasts, there is detailed comparative information about the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 aircraft models, as well as extensive information about the airport airside geometric standards and the modernisations required for these aircraft to land and take off.
