I condemn the attacks that Israel carried out tonight on the humanitarian aid ships. I invite everyone not to remain indifferent to this action by Israel, which, with these inhumane and cruel attacks, has once again shown that it is not in favour of peace, and to make their reaction known in some way. This attack, carried out without any legal or defensive justification on an unarmed convoy travelling purely to deliver aid to a place where people are in need of help, is in effect an attack on all the people in the world who need help. This treacherous attack, in which citizens of Turkey and of other countries in the aid convoy were detained, is in fact an act of defiance and a challenge to all the countries of the world. So that this outrage does not go unanswered and an informed public opinion can form, please do not remain indifferent to this situation, and make your reaction known in the right way!
Windows Live Writer now makes it much easier to add posts to your blog. Thanks to this software, which Microsoft publishes free of charge as part of Windows Live, you will be able to add posts to your blog easily from your desktop. For example, I am writing this very post with the Windows Live Writer program I have just installed.

When you are a 1st-year Surveying Engineering student, it is hard in surveying courses to avoid calculation errors when computing the distance and bearing between two points, especially not to get confused about where to add +200 grads and where to add +400 grads when calculating the bearing, and also to interpret which angle the bearing corresponds to when delta y or delta x is 0. With this in mind, I wrote the Kocaman v0.2 program, which lets you find the distance and bearing between two points with known coordinates. All the special cases in bearing calculation have been taken into account and built into the program.

I wanted to share with you the exercise assignment we prepared under Article 18 of Zoning Law No. 3194 as part of the Urban Area Regulation course we took in the autumn semester of the 3rd year, converted into .pdf format and partly turned into an e-book. The main reason for preparing this document is that, while working on the assignment, my group mates and I could never find a comprehensive assignment that could serve as a precedent, and we don’t want other students in the coming years to go through the difficulties we had while preparing it. In addition, since the assignment contains a sample application, I think it may also be useful for our colleagues working in the profession. In this context, in the coming weeks I plan to convert the base map exercise assignment given in the spring semester of the 2nd year into .pdf format in the same way and share it for the benefit of 2nd-year students.

Positioning, we could say, is the most fundamental task of us surveyors. Although developing technology and calculation techniques have made this task easier today, what we as surveying engineers need to know is how these functional cycles work in the background. For this reason, I believe it will be useful to share with you the solution of the space resection problem with Matlab, prepared as the spring semester assignment of the Photogrammetry 2 course. This document aims to provide both an introduction to the Matlab program and the solution of the space resection problem we use in 3D positioning, together with its programming in Matlab.
