KocamanProSaydamThe Kocaman Pro app for iOS, which I develop together with Computer Engineer Ümit T. AKGÖL, has been updated. You can see the release notes below and download the app for phones and tablets running iOS from the App Store or from here.

  • Points surveyed in the GPS Survey module can now be saved to the notepad or sent via email, WhatsApp, etc.
  • An accuracy adjustment has been made for points saved with the GPS Survey module.
  • A close button has been added to the map screen in the GPS Stake-out module.
  • A character limit has been introduced for the project name in the GPS Survey module.
  • Performance improvements have been made.

KUZEN Series Trailers Released

imageThe first trailers of the web series KUZEN, which is planned to be released in the coming days and in which Surveying Engineer Hüseyin Cem İNCE has put great effort into the production and screenplay as well as playing one of the characters, have been shared on the series’ official YouTube Channel. Multiple Select by Location for Feature Count

imageDuring the work I did for my master’s thesis, I needed to determine the number of bus stops within certain district and neighbourhood boundaries. To do this, it was possible to get the number of stops within district and neighbourhood boundaries with the existing Select by Location tool in ArcMap. However, considering that there were 165 neighbourhoods in my study, I would have had to repeat this process over and over for each neighbourhood. So I decided to write a tool that could automatically calculate how many features there are within a given area.

Kocaman and Kocaman Pro for Android Updated

imageKocaman and Kocaman Pro for Android have been updated. With this latest update, the crash in the GPS Survey and GPS Stake-out modules that had been occurring for some time when the internet was on, due to a problem accessing the earthtools.org services, has been fixed. We thank all our users who gave us feedback during this time and patiently waited for the update to be released, and we wish them success in their work.

We would also like to inform our users that the major update project for the Kocaman Pro app for both iOS and Android is progressing rapidly.

NetCAD Netpro Visual Cross-Section Viewer Study

Recently, while looking for an old file on my computer, I came across a video I had prepared at the end of 2012. The video below shows the cross-sections of an existing slope on a construction site, created from its pre- and post-construction surveys using the NetCAD Netpro application, being compared with the Cross-Section Viewer tool, and the change in the terrain being observed along the route. Anyone interested can visually analyse the changes before and after a project with similar studies of their own.
